Moss Wall with Acoustic Panels in the Waiting Room
In the waiting room of the dental practice Birmensdorf AG, we implemented a wall concept that brings both visual and functional upgrades. Previously, the space was minimal – a plain white wall with a single picture shaped the area where patients waited before treatment.
The goal of this project was to enhance this area significantly and to create an environment that feels calm, modern, and in tune with the practice's overall design. The result is a stunning combination of forest-ball moss, rustic oak acoustic panels and an integrated TV with LED lighting.
The new design is not only a visual highlight, it also transforms the atmosphere of the room: the moss adds a calming effect, the acoustic panels and greenery reduce noise, and the warm light creates a welcoming mood. This turns waiting into a noticeably more pleasant experience – and the wall now blends seamlessly into the high-quality interior of the practice.
Design & Impact
Planning & Execution
Following a phone consultation, the client sent us their requirements and ideas. Based on that, we prepared a quote and assessed feasibility. After approval, we began the realisation: our florists handled the moss wall design, and the installation was carried out by our partner carpenter.
The main wall measures 267 x 240 cm and consists of a spruce batten framework, MDF backing panel, a premium forest-ball moss surface, and a custom oak frame with integrated LED lighting around the TV. A large wall-mounted mirror on a separate panel was added to the left side of the room. The oak acoustic panels continue along the adjacent wall, including a clean finish with edge trim.
Effect in the Space
The wall design brings a clear visual transformation – from a basic surface to a standout design feature. The combination of moss, wood and light creates a warm, calming atmosphere that raises the overall impression of the waiting area. At the same time, the use of natural and acoustic elements noticeably improves the room's acoustics.
The client's feedback was accordingly positive:
