Moss Feature Wall as Focal Point in the Bühler Energy Center Lobby
In the redesigned lobby of the Health Port at the Bühler Energy Center in Uzwil, we created a custom spherical moss wall. The brief was clear: a visually striking, low-maintenance green solution that fits seamlessly into the architectural concept.
Working closely with the Bühler architect, we developed a concept that goes beyond greenery. It’s functional, stylish, and memorable. The wall was handcrafted to match the client’s vision – with a smooth gradient in three moss tones, a built-in screen, indirect LED lighting and a natural oak veneer frame.
Positioned directly in the entrance area, the installation creates a welcoming and inspiring first impression while enhancing acoustics. The spherical moss brings calm to the space – perfectly aligned with the Energy Center’s focus on health, learning and innovation.
From Concept to Impact
Tailored Planning and Personal Consultation
From the very beginning, our goal was clear: to create a natural, maintenance-free green solution that fits seamlessly into the premium reception space. During an on-site consultation, we presented material samples and reviewed the setting together. Based on this, we created several visual concepts with different moss types and colour gradients.
Handcrafted to the Client’s Vision
The final choice was a spherical moss wall in three shades – apple, meadow and forest green – arranged in a soft colour flow. Our florists carefully sorted and positioned each moss cushion by hand to match the desired effect.
Premium Materials and Smart Details
The wall is framed with natural lacquered oak veneer. A screen is seamlessly integrated and highlighted by an all-around LED strip that also illuminates the moss surface with soft, indirect light. Our partner carpenter handled the installation. We later returned on-site to fine-tune the transitions for a clean overall look.
A Lobby That Leaves an Impression
Today, the moss wall is the visual highlight of the Health Port’s reception area in the Energy Center. It brings together design, function and atmosphere. The moss absorbs sound and enhances the ambiance, while the natural material adds contrast to the modern architecture.
