Moss artworks as eye-catchers in the Markthalle restaurant
At the Markthalle restaurant in St. Gallenkirch, we created four distinctive moss artworks, mounted directly on the newly wood-clad columns. The client’s request: “to place a green artwork made of moss as a highlight on each column” – low maintenance, durable, and visually effective.
We used a combination of different moss types: bun moss, forest moss and reindeer moss, each carefully selected and tailored to fit the natural interior of wood and stone. A special feature is the moss picture with an integrated mountain symbol, reflecting the logo of Silvretta Montafon Bergbahnen GmbH.
These moss artworks not only bring fresh greenery into the space, but also improve acoustics thanks to their sound-absorbing properties. They are entirely maintenance-free and ideal for high-traffic restaurant environments. Their combination of design, function and natural beauty adds lasting value for both guests and operators.
Consulting, visualisation and detailed craftsmanship
From the initial enquiry to the finished result, we accompanied this project with care and precision. Based on room photos and the client’s goals, we developed a matching concept. We created multiple offers and visualisations to show various moss combinations and layout options. Further details were clarified by phone before the production was approved.
Handcrafted moss artworks with logo integration
Our florists created each piece by hand. Bun, forest and reindeer moss were used in a coordinated layout. A highlight was the logo: the mountain symbol of Silvretta Montafon was carefully formed using white reindeer moss and placed on a fresh green background. Its clarity and precision required a steady hand and attention to detail.
Natural, functional and durable
The artworks were mounted directly onto the wood-clad columns and now blend seamlessly into the rustic design. They require no care, absorb sound, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere – just as the client envisioned for this lively restaurant setting.
