Custom moss wall for a stairwell
Inspired by one of our reference projects, our client wanted a custom moss wall that spans two adjacent stairwell walls. The result is a unique and lively composition of ball moss, forest moss and Iceland moss in various shades of green. The installation flows organically around the corner of the stairwell, opening in both directions with a natural, fluid movement that resembles a living painting. The open edges, varying heights and harmonious colour palette give the design a calm yet striking presence.
More than a decorative element, this piece creates a visual statement where design, nature and atmosphere come together.
Design & Impact
Planning & implementation
The project was initiated by the client’s daughter, who discovered us on social media and pointed out an existing reference project on our website. That project served as the inspiration, with the goal of creating something similar for their own stairwell.
The inquiry came with a clear vision. After reviewing photos, measurements and specific preferences, we created a tailored concept and visualisation – designed to fit both the space and the client’s wishes.
The moss wall combines forest moss, Iceland moss and ball moss in several green tones. It flows across two walls with dynamic edges and varying height levels to create depth and rhythm. The arrangement was deliberately crafted to integrate into the architecture while also acting as a natural artwork.
Effect in the space
What was once a plain white wall is now a vibrant composition of colour, texture and living form. A true eye-catcher that turns the stairwell into a design feature. The moss wall adds warmth, calm and structure to the home – while also naturally improving acoustics. It visually connects the floors and brings a touch of nature into the space.
