Round moss wall art as an eyecatcher in the stairwell
A building entrance in residential construction is mostly designed for functionality and is rarely used as a design surface in everyday life. In the entrance area of a modern condominium block in Switzerland, a large, plain concrete wall was the starting situation. In order to bring a little colour and freshness into the otherwise cool room, the client was looking for a suitable option. The idea of introducing a natural but absolutely maintenance-free element finally led her to us.
The implementation shows how you can set a special accent in a shared building using natural means. We manufactured a large, round moss art piece with a diameter of 180 centimetres, which breaks up the cool look of the concrete. The mix of forest green forest moss and apple green reindeer moss creates a harmonious structure that catches the eye of residents and guests as soon as they arrive. This project is a beautiful example of how such a natural object gives a classic stairwell a completely new, inviting effect.

From visualization to final decision
The creation process began with a targeted inquiry from the client, who was looking for a round moss art piece for a condominium block. In order to convey an exact idea of the later effect, we created a detailed visualization and a quote based on a photo of the room. Since all owners are involved in such a project in an apartment block, we also sent a sample of our forest and reindeer moss. This allowed the quote to be discussed and sampled together with the physical moss sample in the building. This gave the community the necessary confidence for the final decision.
Handcrafted forest and reindeer moss art with intentional frame effect
After approval, we manufactured the round moss artwork in precise handwork. A carefully coordinated mixture of preserved forest moss in deep forest green and tactile reindeer moss in fresh apple green was used. The mosses were fixed onto a sturdy backing plate. A special design feature is the intentionally exposed edge of the plate, which creates an elegant, modern frame effect. We took care of the professional assembly as well as the entire on-site installation service.

The fully installed moss art piece with a diameter of 180 centimetres now functions as an absolute eye-catcher in the entrance area of the residential block. It brings vibrant natural colours into the formerly cool space and creates a noticeably warmer atmosphere. In addition to its visual appeal, the dense forest and reindeer moss also offers functional advantages. It acts as a natural sound absorber in echoing concrete stairwells and noticeably improves room acoustics. Since the moss is permanently preserved, the artwork remains colourfast and completely maintenance-free for many years, making it an ideal solution for highly frequented communal areas.
