Between Countries and Moss – A Design Statement in the Break Room
The goal for Lifeware AG in Zurich was to create an extraordinary wall design for their break room. A specialized design manufacturer contacted us with a vision for an impressive feature wall that would go far beyond ordinary office greening. The objective was to work together to create a unique and unforgettable spatial experience.
The result is more than just an eye-catcher; it's an immersive experience that immediately captivates you. The soft light shining from behind the outlines of the Europe map creates a fascinating depth, making the dark silhouette appear to float on the vibrant moss landscape. At the same time, lighting integrated into the wooden frame casts a warm glow on the moss, perfectly highlighting the vivid green tones and three-dimensional textures of the mosses. This artistic design is not only inviting to look at but also creates a noticeably calmer and more pleasant atmosphere, thanks to the natural materials and the sound-absorbing effect of the moss. It transforms the break room into a high-quality retreat that encourages inspiration, creative exchange, and relaxation.

This project is the result of a creative and collaborative partnership with a specialized design manufacturer. Following their inquiry, we discussed the details and took over the design of the moss wall, which served as the foundation for the overall concept. Together, we created a unique composition that extends far beyond conventional greening.
Moss, Wood, Light, and a Map of Europe
The wall design combines various natural and technical elements into a harmonious whole. A vibrant landscape of forest and ball moss serves as the base, providing visual depth with its differing textures. The central design element is the black map of Europe, integrated directly into the moss and backlit to give it a floating appearance. Lighting integrated within the wooden frame illuminates the moss design, further enhancing its colors and textures to create a fascinating play of light and shadow.
A Break Room That Inspires
The wall is an absolute focal point that you can't get enough of, as the interplay of light, the organic structure of the moss, and the clear form of the Europe map continually reveals new details. It creates an atmosphere where you immediately feel comfortable and enjoy spending time. In addition to its visual appeal, the installation also noticeably improves the room's acoustics, further enhancing the quality of the space.
