Indoor greening with jungle moss
The Commercial Vocational School Lachen has upgraded two frequently used areas with real natural materials. This project focused on high-quality greening for two central zones: the cafeteria and the learning landscape room. The goal of such interior concepts is to noticeably revitalize common areas and to offer students as well as teachers an inspiring environment.
A total of eight large jungle moss pictures were handcrafted for these spaces. The installations bring a deep, fresh green into everyday school life and ensure an instant wow effect in both rooms. This form of maintenance-free indoor greening enhances well-being in lounge and study areas in an uncomplicated way. A cleverly placed moss picture transforms the entire room dynamics, attracts attention, and creates a motivating atmosphere that invites people to linger and work productively.
Custom-made jungle greening for cafeteria and learning landscape
Jungle moss as a vibrant eye-catcher in the room
For the vocational school in Lachen, a particularly expressive green installation was desired, which is why our jungle moss was chosen. The base consists of a dense combination of fine forest moss and pole moss, enhanced with real preserved exotic foliage. This gives all eight moss artworks a striking three-dimensional appearance and a wild, natural depth that immediately catches the eye.
Enhanced well-being and better acoustics in everyday school life
The eight jungle moss artworks were installed throughout the cafeteria and the learning area. In the cafeteria, the fresh greenery creates a relaxing atmosphere for breaks, while in the learning space it provides a calm backdrop for focused work. Beyond their visual impact, the dense moss surfaces offer practical benefits for everyday school life thanks to their excellent sound-absorbing properties. Especially in areas with high foot traffic or group activities, they noticeably reduce noise levels and improve room acoustics.
A permanently fresh appearance without ongoing maintenance
Thanks to the natural preservation process, the entire green installation is 100% maintenance-free. This means no additional work for the facility management or teaching staff. The moss and preserved foliage never need watering, trimming, or fertilising, and they do not require natural daylight. The artworks retain their soft texture and vibrant colours for many years. As a result, the school benefits from a long-lasting and sustainable enhancement of its interior spaces without any ongoing maintenance costs.
