Mobile Moss Room Dividers in the Nursing Home Dining Hall
At the «im fahr» nursing home in Brügg, there was a desire to make the large dining hall more flexible and to create a cozier atmosphere for the residents. The starting point was the client's specific request for a new room division with two identical, mobile room dividers.
We fulfilled this wish with a set of three mobile elements: two room dividers, planted on both sides with ball moss, provide a natural, green structure. They are complemented by a matching presentation wall, also on wheels, which bears the client's logo. This cohesive ensemble not only gives the room a flexible structure but also noticeably improves the quality of the environment. The fresh green of the moss has a calming and enlivening effect on the dining hall, while the large moss-covered surface significantly improves acoustics. At the same time, the greenery is completely maintenance-free and naturally supports the indoor climate - a real added value for residents and visitors.
Implementation & Added Value
From Inquiry to Complete Solution
The process began with a specific request from «im fahr» for two identical room dividers to structure their dining hall in Brügg. After an initial phone call and the delivery of documents, a coordination phase followed in which the dimensions were adjusted. In this dialogue, the idea arose to supplement the set with a mobile presentation wall to create a complete and flexible solution.
Design and Materials in Detail
The two room dividers are mounted on black casters and finished in a "premium white," which creates a modern contrast to the rich green of the moss. For the planting, apple-green ball moss was chosen for both sides, which creates a lively, three-dimensional structure with its cushion-like shape. The matching presentation wall was made in the same design – also in "premium white" on black casters – and bears the client's logo, ensuring a cohesive overall look.
Added Value for Residents and Visitors
They allow for a pleasant and practical separation of different areas and can be moved flexibly thanks to the casters. The fresh green of the moss enlivens the space, has a calming effect, and creates a natural, homely atmosphere where people enjoy spending time. A decisive advantage, especially in a large dining hall, is the noticeable improvement in acoustics. It is a successful combination of functionality and design that equally benefits the quality of life for residents and visitors.
