For the new offices of GRENKELEASING AG in the prestigious Circle at Zurich Airport, the goal was to create a reception area that leaves a lasting first impression. The vision was clear: a large-scale green wall that not only serves as a visual highlight but also seamlessly integrates a television. The request was for a solution that would underscore the company's modern and innovative image while simultaneously creating a natural, calming atmosphere.
This is where we came in. Our task was to create a representative and functional green installation that is maintenance-free and meets the high aesthetic standards of the location. The result is a custom-made ball moss wall in three shades of green that, with its gentle wave pattern and precisely crafted cutout for the screen, brings technology and nature into perfect harmony. It is more than just a wall decoration; it is a statement that welcomes visitors while noticeably improving the room's acoustics. This project impressively demonstrates how modern work environments can benefit from the integration of nature-based design elements.
Implementation & impact
From vision to implementation
Following the initial contact from GRENKELEASING AG, a detailed exchange took place to fully understand their wishes and requirements. A crucial step was the in-person meeting on-site, where we clarified further details. One of our previous projects, which also featured a moss wall with an integrated TV, served as a source of inspiration.
The fabrication was carried out by our experienced florists in our in-house production facility. Every step was meticulously planned to ensure a perfect fit and a flawless result. Finally, the installation at the Circle at Zurich Airport was handled by our local specialized carpenter partner to guarantee a smooth and professional installation.
A work of art from nature
The centerpiece of this project is the 241 x 243 cm ball moss wall. It consists of real, preserved ball moss in three carefully selected colors: Apple Green, Meadow Green, and Forest Green. Together, these three tones create a harmonious color gradient and form a dynamic wave pattern, giving the wall a special depth and vibrancy.
The moss wall was given a precise cutout that accommodates the 65-inch screen with a perfect fit and integrates it into the natural overall picture. An elegant base completes the design and ensures a clean finish. Like all our moss objects, this wall is 100% natural, sustainable, and completely maintenance-free.
More than just a green wall
The impact on the room is immediately noticeable upon entering. The ball moss wall gives the entire reception area a fresh and inviting atmosphere. It serves as a natural focal point that positively greets visitors and creates a connection to nature.
But the added value extends far beyond mere aesthetics. Thanks to its structure, the moss wall has a proven sound-absorbing effect. It noticeably improves the room's acoustics by absorbing sound waves, thereby creating a quieter, more pleasant environment
