Moss Artwork for the Reception Area
For the new reception area of Garage du Tabeillon M. Montavon SA in Glovelier, we were able to create a distinctive visual highlight. The enquiry came via a polydesigner responsible for the interior concept. The functional reception desk was to be visually softened with a targeted greenery element, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for visitors from the very first moment.
The solution required a bespoke installation mounted directly onto the front of the furniture. We produced a 173 × 70 cm moss artwork combining forest moss and bun moss. The installation instantly brings freshness and natural character into the space. It integrates seamlessly into the overall design concept and forms a striking contrast to the black surfaces and warm wooden elements of the reception area. The result is a balanced composition in which natural green tones gently soften the darker materials while also noticeably improving room acoustics – permanently and with zero maintenance.
Custom craftsmanship for a vibrant design
The concept
In connection with the redesign of the reception area at Garage du Tabeillon M. Montavon SA in Glovelier, the polydesigner approached us with a clear vision. The goal was to create a greenery feature with a lively structure, adding depth through a deliberate interplay of light and dark green tones.
To achieve this effect, we jointly defined a carefully balanced mix of two moss types: flat forest moss as a calm, dark base, combined with raised bun moss to introduce fresh, light accents.
Craftsmanship in our atelier
Production took place in our atelier. On a precisely fitted backing panel measuring 173 × 70 cm, we arranged the preserved moss piece by piece by hand. This resulted in a dynamic, three dimensional surface that delivers the desired contrast while remaining robust enough for daily use in a reception environment.
A perfectly balanced result
The finished installation impresses with the harmonious interaction of materials on site. The fresh green tones engage in a striking dialogue with the matte black surfaces and the warm wooden slats of the reception furniture.
Beyond its strong visual impact, the moss artwork also fulfils an important functional role. It improves acoustics in the open reception area and creates a pleasant atmosphere for conversation – permanently and entirely maintenance free.
