Mediterranean ambiance in moss
In a restaurant, the atmosphere is almost as important as the menu. For the opening of the Spanish restaurant “Barcelona” in Zurich, the owner wanted a unique artwork that would instantly capture the identity and essence of Spain. The goal was to create an unforgettable focal point that welcomes guests and sets the stage for their culinary journey.
Our solution was a large-scale, custom moss artwork recreating the map of Spain with natural textures. This impressive piece not only brings Mediterranean flair into the space but also acts as a strong brand element and conversation starter. More than decoration, it is an integral part of the dining experience, reinforcing the warm and inviting atmosphere while harmonizing perfectly with the restaurant’s culinary variety.
A natural map artwork
This project was a wonderful opportunity to combine our artisanal precision with a creative and thematic idea. From consulting to the handcrafted production in our workshop, every detail was carefully planned.
From concept to on-site realization
Following the client’s request for the upcoming opening, an on-site visit was key. We explored the spatial possibilities and, together, developed the vision of a unique moss artwork: a map of Spain as the central motif.
Handcrafted geography
The 200x150 cm artwork is framed in elegant oak, custom-made by our local carpentry. Our florists covered the background with a dense layer of dark bun moss. On top, the outline of the Spanish mainland and islands was precisely recreated with bright meadow-green reindeer moss.
An ambiance to inspire the senses
The finished moss artwork captures the essence of Spain, bringing a Mediterranean touch directly into the restaurant. It creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the culinary experience. Long-lasting, natural, and maintenance-free, it provides a unique setting without adding any effort to the restaurant’s daily operations.
